Malinas is a commercial park located in Mechelen-North, Belgium. The project was designed by AAVO architects, commissioned by the project developer Mitiska REIM and built by the contractor Verelst Bedrijfsbouw.
The open business park is located in the loop of the connection between the R6 and the N16, at the Mechelen-North exit of the E19 (Brussels-Antwerp). It has 19 shops and a restaurant.
Malinas aims to be the greenest business park in Belgium with a minimal ecological footprint. For the external doors, the objective was to achieve the lowest possible insulation value, U-value or heat transfer coeicient. In addition to this priority requirement, the external doors also had to combine other important performances
without compromising on conformity. Burglary resistance, panic protection, sometimes supplemented by automatic locking and EI1 fire resistance. Many emergency doors are also delivery doors (with access control) and therefore also have to be able to withstand impacts and frequent use.
Heinen always starts with the same proven concept of robust quality. The Metal Plus door is the basic metal door from which all other doors are derived. Externally, there is little or no difference when performance features such as fire, noise or
burglary resistance are added. Improving the U-value of the door leaf is also an additional performance. To achieve this, Heinen opts for materials that optimally insulate the entire door, while avoiding thermal bridges. Thanks in part to the creativity and skill of the partner installers, this thermal break in the door leaf has been supplemented by a break that continues into the mortar-filled frame.
Here are some examples of specific uses available for this Heinen's product
