Heinen fire-resistant doors have been designed to meet your needs in exceptional dimensions, while still meeting the requirements in terms of intensive use and mechanical resistance. For example, a Heinen double door, EI1-60, can easily compartmentalise an opening of 4.40 x 4.40 m!

A pioneer in fire compartmentation
Heinen has always been a pioneer in fire-resistant compartmentalisation.
As early as 1973, the brand attracted attention by perfecting the world’s first metal fire-resistant door!
Since 2010, Heinen doors have been validated according to European standards by no fewer than 30 official fire tests. The pace of developments and the intensive activity in the R&D department even prompted the company to purchase its own furnace that meets European standards in order to carry out pre-tests.
CE marking
All Heinen external fire doors for pedestrians are CE marked according to the new European standards EN 16034 (fire doors) and EN 14351-1 (external pedestrian doors)
The performance features
During a fire, it is crucial that a building’s structural elements maintain their integrity to ensure the safe evacuation of occupants. The structure must remain stable for the entire time required, while fire-resistant walls and doors serve to limit the spread of flames. Heinen provides solutions capable of withstanding up to 240 minutes, thus giving occupants valuable time to escape and allowing emergency services to intervene effectively.
Openings such as doors often represent the weak point in a fire compartmentation system. To address this challenge, Heinen has developed intumescent seals that expand when exposed to heat, thereby preventing the fire from spreading and, more critically, stopping the often lethal spread of smoke. Combined with certified smoke-tightness, these systems help maintain a clearer, more breathable atmosphere, which is vital both for occupants during evacuation and for firefighters during their operations.
Beyond these technical capabilities, Heinen’s range of fire doors is available in various fire-resistance ratings: 30, 60, 90, 120, 180, and 240 minutes for hinged doors. In a surface-mounted configuration, solutions offering 30 and 60 minutes of protection are available, while two-way doors provide 30 and 60 minutes of fire resistance. This broad selection meets the needs of diverse environments—be they residential, commercial, or industrial—while complying with all relevant safety and fire protection regulations.
