General Mission

As Purchasing Manager, you oversee all purchasing activities of the company (raw materials, components, hardware, tooling, and related services) in order to secure supplies, optimize total costs, and ensure continuity of production, within a demanding, structured, and international industrial environment.

You play a key interface role between suppliers and internal teams (production, warehouse, packing, R&D, accounting, Internal Sales Department), with a direct impact on the company’s operational and financial performance.

Main Responsibilities

1. Purchasing planning and execution

  • Verify the consistency of requirements via manufacturing sheets (materials, accessories, hardware) and organize their transmission to the relevant departments.

2. Inventory management and availability

  • Define, monitor, and adjust stock parameters (min/max levels, safety stock, reorder points).
  • Optimize stock turnover and limit stockouts, overstocking, and slow-moving or obsolete inventory.

  • Drive corrective and preventive actions.

4. Sourcing, selection, and audits

  • Identify new suppliers and secure reliable alternatives.
  • Qualify and audit suppliers (technical capabilities, quality, compliance).
  • Define criteria for maintaining or delisting suppliers and ensure a robust, up-to-date supplier base.

5. Negotiation and contracting

  • Negotiate commercial conditions: prices, payment terms, penalties, lead times, transport.
  • Manage supplier contracts and seek the best balance between total cost / quality / lead times.
  • Define and monitor the list of approved carriers.

6. Internal coordination and administration

  • Ensure smooth communication with production, warehouse, packing, R&D, Internal Sales Department, and accounting.
  • Ensure that goods receipts comply with purchase orders and shipping documents.
  • Report and resolve administrative and logistical discrepancies to ensure reliable data entry.
  • Participate in coordination meetings and contribute to the overall management of purchasing activities.

7. Warehouse management (depending on organization)

  • Manage warehouses (raw materials, hardware, tooling).
  • Organize and coordinate the work of warehouse staff: priorities, task allocation, work standards.
  • Ensure compliance with safety rules, 5S principles, and flow quality.

8. Continuous improvement and market monitoring

  • Propose and implement process improvements aimed at efficiency, profitability, safety, and well-being.
  • Monitor the market (trade shows, fairs, new products, innovative solutions).
