Job Description:

Join our R&D team as a Product Development Engineer and contribute to shaping the future of our range of steel doors. You will be responsible for managing research and development efforts to meet market needs in the compartmentation field, considering challenges such as fire, aggression, acoustics, explosion, and blast. This position requires proven expertise in product development, with a focus on safety.

Responsibilities:

  • Integrate compartmentation market needs to define research and innovation areas.
  • Ensure the development of effective new products by overseeing their design and conducting thorough calculations and tests.
  • Manage specifications of new raw materials and coordinate their supply in collaboration with relevant departments.
  • Continuously improve existing products by optimizing the quality-price ratio and considering production processes.
  • Apply advanced skills in static and dynamic pressure calculations, as well as numerical modeling and simulation, to design robust and secure products, particularly in explosion and blast areas.
  • Maintain effective relationships with colleagues from the R&D department and closely collaborate with production to ensure a smooth transition of new products to manufacturing by defining processes and procedures.
  • Stay abreast of regulatory and technological developments to ensure compliance with applicable standards and legislation.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with testing laboratories and accreditation bodies.
  • Provide technical support to customers as needed, addressing their inquiries and assisting them in using our products.
  • Draft and update technical manufacturing procedures in line with R&D projects and ISO 9001 quality standards.

Required Qualifications:

  • Engineering degree and 3 years of experience or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in a technical company and project management.
  • Significant experience in product development, preferably in the safety field.
  • Skills in static and dynamic pressure calculations, as well as numerical modeling and simulation, are an asset.
  • Proficiency in at least French and English (Dutch and German are a plus).
